Windsock Disc Golf Course 

Come to the sports complex to check out the 18-hole course! Beginner’s discs will be available for checkout during business hours at City Hall and the City Pool. Checkout requires a deposit of $20.00 per set at the Hillsboro City Hall where you can also pick up a scorecard. Use the U-Disc App to have on your phone while you play.

Open Gym

The Hillsboro Recreation Commission will be sponsoring open gym on Wednesdays from 7 pm to 9 pm and Sundays 2 pm to 5 pm until mid-March 2023. Open gym is for both youth and adult basketball players who would like to play in pick-up games or just practice shooting. Please bring a separate set of clean basketball shoes to wear on the gym floor and you must provide your own basketball. We will start up November 30 for Wednesday’s and December 4 for Sunday’s.  

Honorable Tiger School of Martial Arts 

The Hillsboro Recreation Commission and the Dai Yu Dao School of Martial Arts is sponsoring a Martial Arts program taught by Sempai Mervin Lare. Dai Yu Dao is styled after traditional Chinese martial arts with an emphasis on traditional hand and weapon forms( kata), self-defense application(waza) and sparing(kumite). Classes will temporarily continue to be held in Memorial Park on Monday and Thursday evenings. Classes begin at 6pm with a cost o $40/ month. Additional discounts are available.

HRC Yoga Classes

Evening Yoga classes are held every Monday and Wednesday evenings, 8 p.m. in the meeting room at City Hall. On Mondays, Lesli Beery is the instructor for an hour long intermediate mat class with multiple poses offered for beginners up to more experienced practitioners. On Wednesdays Rebecca Stiles is the instructor for basic vinyasa yoga, featuring poses linking breathing to movement. For both classes poses can be adapted to skill level and no prior experience needed.  Cost of the class is $5.00/session for adults and $3.00/session for high school/college students. Payment can be made at each class. If you’d like to just try one class to see what it’s about, the first class is FREE.

Studio 23 is at 107 S Main Street in Hillsboro. Class times during the school year are below. Summer camps and classes are updated regularly in RecDesk.
